Why a Personalized Facelift?
If lotions and creams don’t do enough to erase the signs of aging for you, a facelift procedure from Dr. Hsu may be just the thing for you. Turn back the clock by addressing problem wrinkles, sagging skin in the cheeks and jowls, deep lines under the eyes and at the corners of the mouth, crows feet, loss of muscle tone, and the displacement of facial fat. We can also remove excess skin and fat in the chin, getting rid of that unsightly “double-chin”. The result is a fresh, younger look that can help alleviate the signs of aging for a time. Though it can’t completely stop the aging process, a facelift can help you age more gracefully and retain your youthful glow as long as possible.
Personalizing Your Facelift
Personalization comes from Dr. Hsu’s attention to your needs and desired results. They will assess the thickness, texture and elasticity of your skin, as well as the severity of wrinkles and folds.Using a combination of the latest techniques, he will design a facelift procedure that addresses your problem areas in the best way possible utilizing the underlying facial structure as a guide for best results.
The Facelift Procedure
Excess skin and the loss of elasticity is the main cause of wrinkles and sagging, so a facelift generally addresses these issues first and foremost. Small incisions are made in inconspicuous places, which allow for the removal and adjustment of excess skin. Once the desired look has been achieved, the skin is secured in place, and the patient is allowed to return home, most likely on the same day as the surgery. Loose bandages are worn for the first few days. Typically, these procedures are performed using either local or general anesthesia, in the surgeon’s office, an outpatient facility or at a hospital.
After Facelift Surgery
Patients can expect to experience bruising and swelling in the treated areas, along with some mild pain or discomfort, which is easily controlled with medications prescribed by Dr. Hsu. Most are able to return to work within a few weeks, with major swelling subsiding within the first two weeks. Excessive exposure to the sun is to be avoided. Scars will fade considerably over time and are hidden by the hairline. Results generally last 10 to 15 years.
