We all love talking about celebrities. In particular, we love talking about all the similarities and differences between our favorite Hollywood stars and starlets. What is remarkable is how striking these similarities are when accentuated through the use of plastic surgery.
The team at Memorial Plastic Surgery decided to take a closer look at our favorite celebrity look-alikes to show that with a little plastic surgery, mixed with a bit of movie magic, a blockbuster hit like Face-Off may not be that far from reality.
- Joseph Gordon-Levitt / Heath Ledger
There is no denying the parallels between Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Heath Ledger. Both men began their careers as teenage favorites and would grow into critically-acclaimed leading men.
We begin with an application of Restylane to smoothen the lips before altering the nose with a rhinoplasty, shares Dr. Patrick Hsu. From there, we tweak the eyes and brows using a combination of a brow lift and blepharoplasty. After, we can smoothen the results with an application of botox. And the end-results are uncanny!
- Zooey Deschanel / Katy Perry
Who doesn’t love Zooey Deschanel? Over the last ten years, America’s favorite quirky girl-next-door has left breathless with her performances in New Girl and 500 Days of Summer. Katy Perry is just as adorable. The multi-award-winning singer has left us dancing with hits such as “I Kissed A Girl”, “Firework” and “Roar”.
The interesting thing about Katy Perry and Zooey Deschanel is how striking their similarities are at first glance, says Dr. Kendall Roehl. We’d start off with blepharoplasty to even out the eyes, before using a series of non-invasive procedures like Restylane, Dysport, and chin liposuction to link the similarities in features.
- Elijah Wood / Daniel Radcliffe
In the realm of science fiction and fantasy, Elijah Wood and Daniel Radcliffe inspired a generation of artists through their work in the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter series, respectively.
Despite the age difference, Daniel Radcliffe has a more matured look in comparison to Elijah Wood’s boyish charm, shares Dr. Kendall Roehl. A brow lift and blepharoplasty is sure to bring their features together. We finish this off with rhinoplasty and lip augmentation to really bring out Daniel Radcliffe’s features.
- Zoe Saldana / Jada Pinkett Smith
On-screen and off, Zoe Saldana and Jada Pinkett Smith are two of the most accomplished actresses of their generation. Saldana is renowned for her roles in movies such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Avatar, and Star Trek. Pinkett Smith is one of the most active women in Hollywood, balancing her duties as a dedicated mother, with her acting and musical careers.
In many ways, Zoe Saldana resembles a younger Jada Pinkett Smith, says Dr. Patrick Hsu. So, in order to really bring out the resemblance, we will work on the eyes using blepharoplasty and a browlift. From there, the features of the lower face are further accentuated through lip-augmentation and rhinoplasty. To smoothen facial lines, we top the treatment with Restylane.
- Honorable Mention: Civil War-era Gentleman / Nicolas Cage
The energy Nicolas Cage brings to every performance has made him a favorite of moviegoers, young and old alike. But a portrait of an unnamed gentleman from the Civil War has come to light, leading many to speculate that the action star may actually be a time traveler!
The resemblance is uncanny, to say the least!, shares Dr. Patrick Hsu. We can use modern technology to bring out the similarities. We can start with a better camera and a better suit. His nose can be fixed with a simple rhinoplasty and finished off with a suntan and a haircut to round out his features.
