Dr. Hsu Named Texas Super Doctors® 2016
Dr. Hsu was recently named as Texas Super Doctors® 2016 by Texas Monthly magazine in the field of plastic surgery. Awarded to less than 5% of all practicing doctors in Texas, this grand achievement translates to the highest degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
Texas Super Doctors® award is annually conducted by Texas Monthly magazine in collaboration with Key Professional Media Inc. To be eligible, a physician must pass the rigorous, multi-phase selection process that involves the following steps:
- Survey of Doctors
About 40,000 medical professionals are initially surveyed with a poll asking, “If you needed medical care in one of the specialties, which doctor would you choose?” - Candidate Search
Aside from the candidates emerging from the initial survey, a further candidate search is also performed Texas Monthly’s staff. This is to nominate physicians from highly-specialized fields who are less visible than most. - Research
The pool of candidates is then subjected to extensive and independent evaluation based on 10 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. - The Blue Ribbon Panel Review
The highest-scoring individuals are invited to serve as The Blue Ribbon Panel where they are tasked to review each of the nominees from his/her focus. - Final Selection and Verification
Points from the nomination, research, and panel review are added to determine the physicians qualified for the Super Doctors® list. Additional verification is also done to ensure that the doctor is active and in good standing.
This is Dr. Hsu’s first-ever Texas Super Doctors® recognition. The full list will appear in Texas Monthly’s December 2016 edition and at their official website – www.superdoctors.com.
