Why a Personalized Facelift?

If lotions and creams are not enough to erase the signs of aging for you, a facelift procedure from our facial plastic surgeons may be just the thing for you. Turn back the clock by addressing problems such as wrinkles, sagging skin in the cheeks and jowls, deep lines under the eyes and corners of the mouth, crows feet, loss of muscle tone, and displacement facial fat. We can also remove excess skin and fat in the chin, eliminating that unsightly “double-chin.”

The result is a fresh, younger look that can help alleviate the signs of aging for a time. Though it does not completely stop the aging process, this procedure can help you age more gracefully and retain your youthful glow as long as possible.

The Facelift Procedure

Excess skin and the loss of elasticity are the leading cause of wrinkles and sagging, so a facelift generally addresses these issues first and foremost.

Typically, a facelift is an outpatient procedure performed using either local or general anesthesia.

The surgery starts with small incisions made in concealed places, which allow for the removal and adjustment of excess skin. Once the desired look has been achieved, the skin is secured in place.

You are allowed to return home, most likely on the same day as the surgery, and should wear loose bandages for the first few days during recovery.

After Facelift Surgery

You must expect to experience bruising and swelling in the treated areas, along with some mild pain or discomfort, which is easily controlled with medications prescribed by our doctors.

The significant swelling will start to subside for the first two weeks, while the scars hidden within the hairline will fade over time. You may return to work a few weeks after the surgery; however, it will help if you avoid excessive exposure to the sun.

The final results generally last for 10 – 15 years.
