BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT (BBL) IN HOUSTON & WEBSTER, TX

Brazilian Butt Lift Houston

The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a cosmetic procedure that surgically improves the shape and volume of the buttocks by using the patient’s natural fat. BBL can help overcome the effects of genetics by reshaping the buttocks and the surrounding areas, giving patients a desirable curvy shape that is often difficult to achieve through diet and exercise alone. Most women experience renewed confidence in themselves and their bodies after Brazilian Butt Lift surgery.

Our board-certified plastic surgeons Dr. Patrick Hsu, Dr. Kendall Roehl, and Dr. Vasileios Vasilakis perform over 500 successful Brazilian Butt Lift surgeries annually. As leading BBL experts in Houston and Clear Lake, our doctors attract patients globally for this procedure. Their track record of exceptional results and meticulous attention to detail have established Memorial Plastic Surgery as one of the leading clinics in Texas offering BBL.

IS BBL RIGHT FOR ME?

The ideal candidate for Brazilian Butt Lift surgery is anyone who wants to improve the look and prominence of their buttocks. BBL does not use artificial implants but instead uses liposuction and fat transfer techniques, which are essentially two surgeries in one. This procedure makes use of excess fat from other areas of the body to contour the butt area. Usually, the fat is taken from the flanks and lower abdominal area.

You are a suitable candidate for BBL if:

  • You have enough fat in your body for grafting.
  • You can maintain a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 25 – 30.
  • You can avoid sitting for a lengthy period.
  • You have good skin elasticity.
  • You are a non-smoker.
  • You are in good general health and are at a stable weight.

During your initial consultation, you will be advised if weight gain or weight loss is needed prior to surgery. This is necessary because gaining or losing weight after having a butt lift can affect the results of the procedure.

HOW IS BBL SURGERY PERFORMED?

The Brazilian Butt Lift is a complex surgical body contouring procedure that requires a lot of care and precision. From start to finish, it can take 3 – 4 hours to perform. Memorial Plastic Surgery performs the surgery in several steps:

  • General anesthesia is administered.
  • Through a type of liposuction technique called Power-Assisted Liposuction, large amounts of fat are suctioned from donor sites.
  • The suctioned fat is drained to remove excess fluid.
  • The purified fat is injected into each buttock. The plastic surgeon then injects above the muscle to avoid injury to blood vessels and prevent dangerous complications.
  • After the fat is safely transferred, your surgeon will apply an abdominal drain and close the incisions with surgical sutures.
  • A compression garment will be applied to ensure your body maintains its new contour.

Brazilian butt lift surgery is a complex procedure that requires a highly developed eye for aesthetic detail. Our team of board-certified surgeons at Memorial Plastic Surgery has received the extensive training and experience necessary to perform BBL safely.

Our surgeons perform hundreds of Brazilian Butt Lift surgeries each year using a variety of techniques to achieve stunning results.

BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT VS. BUTT IMPLANTS

Some patients may consider the use of implants when augmenting the shape and size of their buttocks. The procedure requires the use of silicone implants, similar to the kind used for breast augmentation.

This is different from the Brazilian Butt Lift, which uses the body’s own fat to produce results that look and feel natural. With Brazilian butt lift surgery, a skilled plastic surgeon can use specialized fat transfer procedures to achieve a fuller, rounder buttock contour.

Patients who opt for butt implants are at risk for capsular contracture (scar tissue formation). The implants will need to be replaced every 10 – 12 years. Some of the complications of butt implants include excessive bruising and swelling in the buttock area. It’s also possible for silicone implants to move or slip out of place. This can leave you with an uneven appearance in the buttocks and requires surgery to fix it.

RECOVERY & RESULTS

BBL surgery is usually an outpatient procedure. If more than 5 liters of fat are removed, an overnight hospital stay is recommended for monitoring and patient safety. You may return home after being cleared by your doctor.

Recovery from BBL can range from 3 to 6 months for your body to fully recover from the surgery. Our doctors strongly recommend sleeping on your side or stomach during this time. Your final Brazilian Butt Lift results are permanent with proper diet and exercise.

COST & FINANCING

The average cost for Brazilian Butt Lift surgery at our Houston or Clear Lake office ranges from $12,800 – $15,800+. This amount includes anesthesia and operating room (OR) fees, a recovery kit with compression garments, and follow-up visits with your doctor after surgery. It also includes the professional fees of your surgeon, which vary per doctor. The final price of BBL depends on how much fat is taken and from how many areas.

You will be given an accurate estimate at your initial consultation, so you must ask as many questions as possible. Because the procedure is considered cosmetic surgery, you may not be able to purchase insurance coverage.

BBL FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. Can Brazilian Butt Lift be combined with other procedures?
Yes, BBL can be combined with all Mommy Makeover procedures, which include breast augmentation, lift, reduction, tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), and liposuction on other areas of the body.
  2. BBL fat donor areas – where do plastic surgeons typically liposuction fat from?
At Memorial Plastic Surgery, the BBL cost is inclusive of lipo 360. The procedure involves the removal of fat from the entire torso, including the abdomen, flanks, and lower back. Patients can opt to have fat removed from other donor sites such as the arms, thigh, and upper back.
  3. What percentage of the fat cells die after graft?
Our BBL surgeons usually achieve a 70% success rate of fat survival following fat grafting procedures. This is because of the carefully crafted techniques and attention to detail by our highly specialized team of surgeons and staff members.
  4. Can I use someone else’s fat for my BBL?
Our surgeons strongly advise against using harvested fat from a donor for your Brazilian Butt Lift. The body will instantly reject tissue from another person. If you have insufficient tissue for a BBL, our doctors will recommend buttock augmentation with the implants.
