Dr. Vasileios Vasilakis is a fellowship-trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon, who offers a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive surgical procedures of the face, breast, and body. He spent years refining his skills through advanced training in aesthetic surgery, which culminated in his Aesthetic Surgery fellowship endorsed by the Aesthetic Society. Dr. Vasilakis’ international training and lifelong exposure to different cultures has contributed significantly to his personal and professional growth and has allowed him to embrace the delicate and creative nature of plastic surgery.

Dr. Vasilakis is highly regarded for his personalized approach to patient care, using cutting-edge surgical and minimally invasive techniques to promote optimal outcomes.

Early Life and Education

Dr. Vasilakis was raised in Athens, Greece, then moved to London, United Kingdom, to fulfill his academic aspirations. He earned a bachelor of science and a medical degree from the world-renowned University of London and completed a post-graduate clinical year in medicine and surgery in two of London’s leading university hospitals.

During medical school, Dr. Vasilakis was recognized by the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, and was awarded a national scholarship to study microsurgery and complex reconstructive techniques alongside global experts in Taiwan. Dr. Vasilakis was selected for the honor of serving as a medical school representative at London’s prestigious Royal Society of Medicine, where he led numerous educational committees.

Training

Dr. Vasilakis completed full residencies in both general surgery and plastic surgery. He graduated from the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group and Stony Brook University’s plastic and reconstructive surgery residency program in New York. He also served as Chief Resident at Stony Brook University Hospital and Nassau University Medical Center. During his training in Long Island and New York City, he had the opportunity to work alongside leading experts in both reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery, including complex microvascular reconstruction, breast reconstruction, burn treatment, and aesthetic surgery.

Fellowship

Following his training in New York, Dr. Vasilakis was selected to train at the internationally acclaimed Hunstad Kortesis Bharti Plastic Surgery Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, one of the longest-running and most prestigious aesthetic fellowships nationwide. During this time, Dr. Vasilakis gained extensive experience in the most innovative techniques of face, breast, and body contouring surgery, and developed a strong interest in minimally invasive technology.

Academic Success

Dr. Vasilakis is dedicated to advancing the field of plastic surgery and has a strong interest in clinical research. He has published and lectured extensively on plastic surgery topics and authored numerous book chapters and papers. His work has been presented in several national and international plastic surgery meetings.

Personal Life

Dr. Vasilakis enjoys spending time with his family. In his spare time, he enjoys trying new foods, running, and playing basketball.
