BROW LIFT IN HOUSTON & WEBSTER, TX

brow lift

As we age, we lose essential components of our once-youthful appearance. Lines and wrinkles eventually make their way into our faces and change our appearance, especially in the upper facial area. When we lose certain key components of our youthful appearance, we subsequently look unhappy and tired.

A Brow Lift, also known as the Forehead Lift or Browplasty, is a transformative procedure performed to correct the various signs of aging in the upper areas of the face. This surgery restores the natural appearance of the upper facial area by repositioning the eyebrows and forehead to raise the eyebrows. Brow Lift is often performed in conjunction with Blepharoplasty.

As one of the leading providers of Brow Lift in Houston and Webster, Dr. Tyler McElwee not only performs the surgery for aesthetic purposes but also to improve the vision of patients impaired by drooping brows and who need surgery to improve their lateral visual field.

Brow lift surgery is known for providing several benefits in one, including:

  • Correcting asymmetry of the forehead and eyebrows.
  • Restoring a youthful and rejuvenated appearance to the skin of the forehead.

Our team of facial plastic surgeons here at Memorial Plastic Surgery employs several techniques to tailor the procedure to specific patient goals. We also offer other facial plastic surgery procedures to allow our patients to enjoy better results.

CANDIDATES FOR BROW LIFT

The ideal candidate for a Brow Lift suffers from one or more of the following symptoms:

  • Deep horizontal lines on the forehead
  • Vertical wrinkles between the eyebrows
  • Heavy upper eyelids
  • Droopy eyebrows that interfere with vision

While there is no minimum age for a Brow Lift, people usually undergo this procedure after their late 40s. At this time, the brow line begins to drop and coarse lines may appear along the forehead. People for whom drooping eyebrows are a genetic problem can also go to Brow Lift to avoid vision problems as they age.

BROW LIFT WITH MPS TOP DOCTORS

Our surgeons perform the forehead lift on an outpatient basis under general or local anesthesia. The choice of anesthesia will depend on whether you are receiving a brow lift only or if it will be combined with other procedures. This will be part of the treatment plan that you and our surgeon develop after the initial consultation.

Our doctor will also assess your medical history during this meeting and ask about your specific goals and the results you expect from the surgery. We will also evaluate your forehead area, including your upper eyelids, to know exactly how we can help you and recommend the technique to use.

Your Brow Lift Options

There are several methods to lift the forehead and brow area. We perform the following techniques with meticulous care and precision at Memorial Plastic Surgery:

  • Classic or Coronal Lift
The classic lift involves a continuous incision that starts at the level of the ears and goes up to around the hairline. A strip of skin is then removed. Then our surgeon will lift the skin of the forehead, removing excess tissue or fat and realigning the muscles.
  • Endoscopic lift
During an endoscopic lift, our surgeon makes a few 1-inch incisions in the scalp through which an endoscope is inserted. The device helps our doctors make the incisions that separate the skin from the muscles. They can then create the appearance of a lift. Because the incisions are smaller, this procedure is less invasive than the traditional lift, resulting in minimal scarring and ensuring a shorter recovery time.
  • Open forehead lift
Our surgeon makes an incision from one ear along or slightly back from the hairline to the other ear in an open brow lift. The skin at the top of the face is separated from the underlying tissue before reducing or tightening the muscles. The skin is then stretched and stitched, with excess skin removed.

OUR DOCTORS ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT BROW LIFT

What does a brow lift do?

A brow lift is a cosmetic procedure that lifts the brows after they have sagged due to the natural aging process. Through surgery, it improves the brows, forehead, and eye area while reducing visible wrinkles, frown lines, and sagging skin in the upper facial area. It also gives a more youthful appearance by lifting the soft tissue and skin in the brow and forehead area.
